What is skip hire?
Skip hire is a service where you can hire a skip for a set period of time. With skip hire, you can get rid of large amounts of waste quickly and easily. The skip is delivered to you, you fill it up, and it is then taken away.
Skips are ideal for larger scale jobs, such as garden clear outs or home renovations. However, there are some downsides to using skips – the biggest one being that it can be difficult for some people to find the space for them on their property and getting them on site can be tricky as well. If you don’t have enough space outside your home or business to fit a skip in your front driveway or yard (for example if you live in an apartment block), then skip hire may not be an option for you.
The cost of skip hire and van and man
A significant difference between both services is their cost. Skip hire is cheaper than van and man. The cost of skip hire depends on the duration, size of the skip, and whether you need a permit from the council. In case, you want to keep the skip for more than 24 hours, it will be more expensive. The cost of van and man depends on the time it takes to load the waste into your vehicle or truck.
Skip hire allows you to take your time.
You don’t have to be present when the skip delivery driver arrives and you don’t have to be present when they collect the skip either. You can take as long as you need to fill up your skip. The only thing that matters is that you make sure all the contents are secure within the bin so that it doesn’t spill over during transit.
Skip hire is more convenient.
It saves you time as it only takes the company a few days to deliver and remove the skip. Also, you will not spend hours driving to the dump, which could take hours from your schedule. The skip hire companies also save your money because they offer their services at affordable rates. You will also save money in that you do not need to buy a car or van for hauling away large loads of junk.
Can I fill up my skip and buy another one?
Yes, you can absolutely fill up your skip and buy another one if needed. If you’ve already filled up a skip, you’ll need to arrange a second skip or an exchange of the first skip for an empty one. This can be done via our Online Booking System by selecting the Pick Up option on screen when booking a second skip. You’ll also need to state where it is that you’d like the empty skip to be placed. If your first skip was able to fit in your driveway then we’ll place the empty one there too unless otherwise stated.
Skip hire is the most effective way to get rid of waste.
Skip hire is one of the most convenient solutions for waste removal in the UK. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it’s also incredibly cheap and you can always get another skip if you need more space to fill.
Skips come in two main varieties – delivered or self-pickup. The former involves a driver bringing your skip and dropping it off where you want (as long as they can access the location). The second option involves renting a trailer, taking a trip to pick up your skip and loading it yourself before returning it to the rental company’s yard when you’re finished with it.
In both cases, skips are delivered on a truck and have hydraulics that make them easy to load onto the truck at any time. All you have to do is take your waste to the curb or parking lot and place it inside of your skip. When you’re finished filling up the container, call up your provider so they can take care of everything else for you!
